smoothie

I finally got my hands on some kefir grains. So I been cultivating some homemade probiotic goodness. Today was the first time I tried a smoothie using the kefir I've been storing up in the fridge and it was tasty and delicious. I'll be keeping these ingredients on hand from now on.

1 banana
1 cup of frozen blueberries
1/2 cup of orange juice
2 table spoons of blue agave nectar
2 cups of kefir

blend up until its smooth.

wooly

Here's my first attempt at knitting a diaper cover. I used this pattern, and I like the way it fits. And I imagine it's softer and more comfy to wear than what I currently have on him.
I have yet to lanolize it, and I'm scared because I don't really know what I'm doing.
So wish me luck.

jumbo biscotti

I have been loving biscotti these days. My awesome parent-in-laws sent us some amazingly delicious ones in a cutie cookie jar for Christmas. Now its all I want. So I decided to try to make some at home. My mom gave me this recipe and I can't stop making them. A new batch every week. I'm pretty sure its not helping me get rid of any baby weight, but I couldn't care less.

making stuff

I still use, and am very happy with my homemade deodorant. I started adding essential oil in the fragrance of my choice to really spruce things up. I've never smelled better.

Anyhow, we used trader Joes all natural toothpaste until they decided it would be a good idea to discontinue the line. :/ So as a replacement, I thought it might be fun to try to make some. The other all natural brands are at least twice the price. So I used this recipe:

1/3 cup baking soda
1/3 cup vegetable glycerin
12 drops of spearmint food grade essential oil

and just tried it for the first time, and I like.

Saturday's birthday girl

I can't believe she's 2.

I've been told by a small man living in my house,

The caution label on scooters apparently say:

Warning no girls allowed.

Sam the skater man

When we remember and have the time I try to take Sam ice skating. At our local rink. He's been loving it so I really try to remember. Today was the first time I brought all three children, and then I felt bad because Phoebe really wanted to skate too. They don't carry rental skates small enough, so maybe next time baby.
