I am a new 28 year old

Untitled
Yesterday was my birthday. We celebrated last weekends for our date, but for the actual night , Joel and I walked downtown to pick up fine cheese and wine. :) We had a wonderful anti pasta type in house date. My favorite really.

We are going bowling tomorrow as per Sam's request. An I need to get cracking on the transformer cake! Any suggestions? Also the weather is supposed to stay over 40 until Sunday! Yay!

Here are some things I liked this week.
I need to make these!!
Do you think I could make this bag? I really want to.
A visualization of the value of a dollar.
Love this ring.

What are you up to this weekend?

Happy Birthday buddy

This is what he wanted, and got for the big day. And on the list of things requested are,
waffles for breakfast, quesadillas for lunch and Pad See Ew for dinner. Followed by ice cream cones. He gets to sign up for the local soccer league today, and get sized for his first pair of cleats! We love you Sam!

this week's menu

1. lasagna
2. potatoe soup
3. this Salmon dish
4. pad see ew
5. brisket and mashed potatoes
6. NY style ruebens

My big guy turn 5 on Wednesday, and he requested meal #4. It really is one of his favorites.
I'm very flattered that most of his favorite meals are one that I make for him at home. Not counting a hand full of dinners, like McDonnalds?!( We have eaten here once or twice, but I think the play place has something to do with this choice) And Pizza hut. Sheesh. Here's to babies growing up!

We are hoping to meet the little one some time this fall. We would love for you to pray for us!

contamination

So today I tried to throw a birthday party, for Phoebe. It was going wonderfully until the second cupcake in. She started to tell me her "tummy hurt". Hm, you should probably stop eating cupcakes I said. But them, she started to look sleepy. Which mean she actually doesn't feel good.
I have a terrible track record with hosting, and one of my kids getting sick.

I start to panic internally. You know, try to figure out if I should sit her in the bathroom while I continue to host, or take her in her room and lay in her bed with her till she falls asleep. From which nap she would wake up completely healthy from. Instead I held her in my arms until the party ended, everything was cleaned up, and she got sick. :(

All you local friends are never going to want to come over again.
I hope no one else gets it.
And, I apologize a head of time if you do.

Also to add to the terribleness, I forgot to mention my baby turned one in November.

I know, I'm the worst.

leather florets

Untitled
I'll never get bored of stripes. Or leather, or flowers. And yes, those are jeggings. You know they are comfortable.

We are going to hear some live music at our local coffee shop tonight, and Phoebe is having a tiny little birthday party tomorrow morning. Other than that we will be relaxing at home. Trying out our new blue-ray DVD player and TV combo. (yes, we are so very cool) What do you have planned for the weekend?

our nanna had a birthday

We love her so much! She threw herself a birthday party, and we all celebrated another year for her and the fact that she now lives here with us in Idaho!! We are a spoiled crew. She bends over backward for us every chance she gets. God couldn't have blessed with a better mother or friend.

Happy Weekend!

We have baby showers and birthday parties to attend this weekend. And of course we'll walk to the farmers market, and peruse the aisles for fresh produce, local food, and goods. Its become such a favorite. How do you plan to spend your weekend?

27 good years

I also had a birthday yesterday. I got two of these lil' beauties. Which works out beautifully. I'll need both once we get our birds.
This was not the most care free and jolly birthday ever, but I have so much joy in my life. God has me in such a wonderful place, and I am blessed beyond belief.

When things get dull.

Me: Sam would you like to have a costume birthday party?
Sam: Yeah, Blaise can be Cain, I can be Able and Phoebe can be Curious George.
Phoebe: No, I can be cake.

it's not nesting yet,..

It's just a form of mental preparation. Since we didn't know phoebe was a girl before she was born, I already have some gender neutral newborn pieces. Enough to hold me for at least a month I think.

last minute,

I finished! With little to no time to spare. I had this idea to make a toy mouse for Phoebe. I had seen one in a catalog online, and almost bought it but thought it would be so much cuter handmade. I think I was right. Even with all its crazy stitching, and lopsidedness. I stuffed a bell inside for added jingling, and filled it with old plastic shopping bags needing to be recycled. This lil' gal with definitely be getting some friends just like her real soon. For now, she is waiting in Phoebe's stocking to get some kitty hugging.

I hope you all found the time and will to finish all you last minute preparations. Merry Christmas, and may you all enjoy this awesome season given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ!
