it's muddy as all get out,

But we are ready for soccer anyway. And so excited about it too. I think this might officially categorize me as a soccer mom. I never thought Id be okay with  it. I'm going to secretly enjoy it. See you on the field.

tabletop

He didn't climb up here himself, even though he might be able too. I just love a baby on a table.

I haven't really been knitting. So I don't have any progress to show you that you would be able to notice. I just have to finish the sleeves. And pick buttons. But I have a spring bug. Which encourages me to make earrings, market totes, and pick out sundresses. Which I am going to do. Don't you worry. I just have to remember not to forget to finish this oh so close knitting project. Cause really I'm so close right? I guess it could be my fault that we keep getting snow and not spring.

p.s. I started to feel the baby move. :)

contamination

So today I tried to throw a birthday party, for Phoebe. It was going wonderfully until the second cupcake in. She started to tell me her "tummy hurt". Hm, you should probably stop eating cupcakes I said. But them, she started to look sleepy. Which mean she actually doesn't feel good.
I have a terrible track record with hosting, and one of my kids getting sick.

I start to panic internally. You know, try to figure out if I should sit her in the bathroom while I continue to host, or take her in her room and lay in her bed with her till she falls asleep. From which nap she would wake up completely healthy from. Instead I held her in my arms until the party ended, everything was cleaned up, and she got sick. :(

All you local friends are never going to want to come over again.
I hope no one else gets it.
And, I apologize a head of time if you do.

Also to add to the terribleness, I forgot to mention my baby turned one in November.

I know, I'm the worst.

still more

Our Christmas morning. Yes we are still celebrating Christmas. We keep our decorations up, and continue the joyousness for the full 12 days. Why? Because, 1 day is not long enough. And its just way to much fun.

fun for the babies

We like to eat out when we can. I just can't make Thai food as good as I'd like. Not to mention, I love leaving my dishes on the table and never having to think about them again. But sometimes waiting for food to arrive is unbearable for my little ones. iPhones come in very handy, with apps like paper town friends, and speak piggy! But, I think I'd like to get some games like this.

busy

We've been so busy here lately. Every weekend is packed with tons of friends and food, and we have startedschool, and construction on our house!! We are planning to slowly finish our attic space. That way we can one year move the growing brood of children to the second floor.

she picked out her shirt

I made a trip to the nearest target this Monday. To get our new pets, ( which I'll tell you about in a minute). Its an hour and a half away. Yuckers. But, boy are we a happy bunch when we get in there. I always forget the wonderful clothes they have for kids.

So these are the girls. We have spent some time these past three years, planning and planning again, how we could keep some chickens in our backyard. I am an animal lover, but since becoming a mother, children seem enough of a task, to wait on the family dog. But chickens? Chickens make my breakfast.

potty

I put my children on the potty when they are 8 months old. Not quite as early as some others. Mostly because its cute. (see above for proof) But also because it makes for less diapers and wiping. Have any of you ever heard of this elimination communication method? Or tried it for that matter? I think its worth it.

Phoebe says

She does, and its understandable, but not always phonetically correct.

Cases in point:

Ca'smore pea-duhy-duhy?
( can I have some more peanut butter and jelly)

Mama, wook! it's a god!
( mama, look its a dog)

Not to forget: gubble-man.
( bubble gum)

When things get dull.

Me: Sam would you like to have a costume birthday party?
Sam: Yeah, Blaise can be Cain, I can be Able and Phoebe can be Curious George.
Phoebe: No, I can be cake.

soup gone sauce

One night niether my sister or I had enough kitchen stock to come up with something good for dinner on our own. We knew we didn't want to go to the store so we figured we'd put our goods together and see what we could come up with. I remembered a sausage and kale dish I read about in and old FOOD & WINE magazine. I had made it once but couldn't quite recall what went into it. Besides the two main ingredients. She had some delicious butternut squash soup leftover from the night before, and we thought it might be nice on the side. We put it on top instead. It's now a new favorite. Its so easy to put together and everyone eats it. There are very few dishes we all enjoy at the same time. So naturally, this goes on the list.

special

Mom, I love you.
I would never think of selling you to anyone, because you're too special to part with.

Thank you Sam. I love you too.

I think you're right baby

Sam asked what blacks beans were at the dinner table last night.
I proceeded to tell him, after which he informed us his eyes were, in fact, just that.
Black beans.

sickies

That's what we were this weekend. My poor little man was looking forward to a birthday party all week only to loose his lunch a half hour before party time. We all ended up getting some form of the nasty bug. With me getting it the worst. I think any stomach ailment is amplified by an internal family member who didn't get the memo. So I'm sparing you pictures of our fun. ( No I didn't actually take any pictures.) But on a much better note, Congratulations to these fun ladies and their new baby boys. I'm ready for my turn.
