sushi

I made california rolls and pad thai for dinner tonight. It was an experiment that turned out surprisingly well.
We are harsh food critics sometimes so I was kind of hestitant to try it at all. It takes time to make because of the rice. But it was relaxing. I thought about karate kid 3.( or was it 2?) Remember Daniel's love interest? The pretty japanese girl? Yeah, it made me think about her ceremonial tea preparation. . Time consuming yet productive. Very productive.

we love sangria

My parents invited us out to Don Juan's for dinner tonight. Our favorite local Mexican restaurant.
The place was packed, but our wait wasn't long at all. Once we were seated, We shared a pitcher of sangria and had some black bean soup which I'm going to need to get a recipe for. Sam was great, and even better when the staff sang their version of happy birthday. So we joined in, in preparation for his own celebration in march. (How do you teach a babe to blow out candles?)
Of course I ordered enchiladas suizas. I always do and I'm never disappointed so why stop? I gave Sam some sangria from my straw, and he did a wild dance in his little highchair in applause. Did I mention I love that boy?

package

This package arrived in the mail yesterday from my friend Abby:She made these herself,
I ordered the leaf pair and got the jade marble set as a bonus.
The woman who stocks the bead store theses came from travels the world to find her goods.
If only I could find out where they are really from.

peanut butter jelly time

My dear sibling have and talk about these silly little sandwiches all the time. I usually trying not to join in, (they usually give me a stomach ache) but I just ate 1 and a half sandwiches. I love them. Is there anyone out there who doesn't like this classic? It's not really the healthiest thing you could eat I'm sure, but how can you resist the temptation? Whole wheat bread +strawberry jam + natural crunchy peanut butter= lip smacking delectible goodness. Whats your favorite combo? mister jude can't have pb&j yet......so he's eating grilled cheese. And squinting from my evil flash.

some good things

I got lost in a whole foods market yesterday. And loved every minute of it. They have insanely good prices on everything insanely good. It drives me totally insane. But thats something I appreciate greatly.
What I don't really appreciate to much is the fact that I might have to get braces. But it would be helpful for my everyday life there after,.....I hope.

6 weird things: If anyone still cares to know.( sorry its so awfully late)
1: I hate getting ready for bed.
2: I love the smell of coffee but I don't like drinking it.
3: I was a dental assistant for 6 years and I can't stand the sight of saliva. Yuk.
4: I buy clothes that I like at the store, then go to a different store, and buy more clothes that I like.(on adifferent day) Then take the clothes I bought first and return them. Then continually repeat the process. This is not really a good way to try and build a wardrobe.
5: Spiders cause me to have nervous breakdowns.
6: I wish I could gain weight.

I made these muffins for breakfast this morning. From my HOW TO BE A DOMESTIC GODDESS cookbook. I loved the taste. But next time around I'm going to use a heavier hand with the flour for a denser muffin and I'm going to use the smallest berries I can find. Then use only about 4 ounces instead of 7.

Blueberry Muffins

6 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 1/3 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons bking powder
1/4 cup sugar
pinch of salt
1/2 cup plain yogurt and 7 tablespoons milk
1 large egg
7 ounces of blueberries

Mix dry ingredients together in one bowl, mix wet ingredients minus butter in a separate bowl.
Cover and refrigerate over night. In the morning preheat oven to 400. Melt the butter and mix all ingredients except blueberries together. Don't worry about lumps, if you over mix you'll get a tough muffin.
Add blueberries last. Fold in gently. Spoon mix into 12 paper lined muffin cups. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown and firm on top. Smear with more butter and blueberry jam.

Here is Sam at the park saturday.
He loved it. I know I mentioned it before. But he doesn't look like it in this picture.
I'm going to need to have size prop in my pictures of him. He looks like a big boy but he's actually still tiny.
