100th post!

My husby bought me this. I was driving a VW beetle around. I liked the car, but it wasn't easy crouching in to buckle the two cats in. Besides, the double stroller couldn't even get near it. Now I've got the room for three more. At 25 I am thrilled about an old mini van. Sheesh. What does this all mean?

I should have reached 100 posts a long time ago. But I have been back and forth about this blog so often. I'm just recently posting on a somewhat regular basis. So here's to a hundred more! Hopefully I'll get better at posting intresting things. Thank- you to everyone who come here to read about my little corner of the world.

Okay, bad brownies. Note to self- never use milk chocolate for baking. Only dark, semi, or bitter sweet. Moving on. We seem to be spending saturdays in the garden. We are really liking it. Even though it looked the same as last week. With the addition of some aphids.
I learned from a friend that I could mix up some pepper spray and douse the dear little plants to protect them. So I'll need to be on the look out for a really hot pepper. Really hot. Any suggestions?

love that chocolate

I've been playing with the ratio of milk, and dark chocolates in this recipe from Martha Stewart.com, and I think this might be the closest I've gotten to perfecting them. I'll fill you in after we eat them.

I fell in love with these little greek sandals at little fashion gallery. But of course at 103.50 pounds It was really just a thought. Then I found these that are pretty similar with a much fairer price tag. $8.50 US dollars. I turned then down once, because Phoebe's teeny feet slide out of the smallest size. But I might have to go on and get them anyhow.

pasta!

Joel and I have been watching Jamie at home. We like his cookbooks and what he's about.
I decided to try his recipe for pasta last night. We were pleased with the out come. It took three hours to cut out. But that can be remedied with one of these babies.
In other news, it's raining. But I like the rain.

guess what we did today?

Peppers, eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes, cucumber and a bunch of herbs went in the ground this afternoon. Joel built me these wonderful planter boxes, and we took tips from this book.
We have some unrented squares so I might go out to find some broccoli, carrots and lettuce. Or something else that might be fun to eat. Onions? I've been wanting to do this for a while, and I really didn't think it would happen this year. Joy.

we name our shoes

Let me turn your focus to the croc-knock-offs. I'm not a huge fan of crocs. But, there is something to be said about a shoe that can get muddy sandy, and rinsed right off. Sam wasn't really into the idea of new shoes, so in order to convince him, I quickly called them "monster shoes". Sounds like more fun than crocs. (Unless you are a little boy who happens to like crocodiles already.) And it worked! Now they are his favorite. The black socks are kind of defeating the whole purpose. But I can't win them all.

Loss of a loved one

We are mourning over the loss of My grandfather this weekend. His death caused by a strep infection, was a surprise. We are all so sad. My grandfather was a wonderful godly man. So although we are going to miss him, we praise God for his return home. Please pray for our family while we grieve.
