wonderful weekend::would you?

We went away to Pennsylvania for the weekend. To visit future family and these wonderful congregants. Its always such a pleasure to see them all. Even though the time spent is short.
We always look foward to going back. Which could be sooner than we thought. They are having a St. Pastricks psalm sing this coming friday. I love psalm singing in large #'s. Which is pretty much anything larger than 8 people. Its edifying!! All thouse voices praising God is so glorious. Its reaches my soul I tell you. That reminds me, Sam started to sing amen at the end of hymns. Its great to see him participate in worship service. Even though its just a tiny bit. He knows whats going on for the most part. That is, when he's not causing a disruption.

We got to do some thrifting in lancaster county. Much better resources than we have locally.
I got Sam a bunch of stuff. Books and clothes, and found this for me.

Okay here it is. The finished project:

Here it is. One print/color of two. Of course minutes before we left friday afternoon I just needed to finish it so I could bring it with me. Don't you love a needle that breaks at just the right time? Two inches from finishing the last seam.
I've been working on the structure of this bag for years I hate to say. I have a mild obsession with totes. And their functionality. A bag can look really cute on the racks but if it won't stay up or you can't reach in to get to the goods without a fight, what good is it? So here is what I've come up with so far. Would anyone be intrested? I might have to put in the shop.
Click on the bag to see the other photos I took.

  1. And if you go on Friday for the Psalm Sing, you might meet someone you know on the program. ;-)

  3. Had you been to that site before? I found it almost a year ago, and always forgot to link to it. It is charming and wonderful.

Okay, 5pm sounds good. I'll ask the others if that works for them.

  5. Sarah,

Thank you for commenting here. I'm not selling the pattern. Just this bag and another grey one with red accents.

  6. I wish I were 1/3 as creative as you are. Such a cute bag. I too love singing with the saints. Way way better than singing alone since I can blend in and disguise my dreadful attempt to stay in key. Mel

  13. French toast. :) I was cooking. And yes, it was good. Last time I made French toast (5 years ago! i'm not really into breakfast if i'm cooking.) it was raw in the center- this was a big improvement.

  16. I love this bag! It's perfect. And I plead with you, please, please stop linking to sites that cause covetousness to rage out of control. I don't know how much more I can take.

  18. Don't drive to New York on Monday night, because we won't be there!

Please read your (very sad) email. Ben and I are just now getting over the flu, and because of it, never got on our plane. We would have never made it in time anyhow (we're seeing this now) because of airports closing all over the northeast because of the sick weather. We rebooked though, and are coming in a few weeks. Sorry!

  23. Haha, it wasn't that hard. It was right there today when I scrolled down your profile page and clicked on your penneysfromheaven page :) It's cute.

Oh no, I'm sorry, I can't buy it. Although I think it's darling, I have one too many bags. And two are in the process of being made. Some big bags to take to the market. But I'm actually making those for others, which is good. Too, too many I have :)

  24. Our recent hiking trip was sort of an unplanned adventure so we ventured only a little bit away from our city. Lots of fun though! xo
