time to craft? not really.

Outside of caring for children and cleaning, I mean trying to clean my home...I haven't had much time to craft anything fun. I always go to knittting because it is such a portable craft. No need to go to the sewing room. Phoebe was in need of a winter hat. The ones I knit her before she was born have already grown small. (She was bigger than I expected). So I knit her this little pompom hat yesterday using two strands of this yarn I've had forever. I had a vision for what I was trying to make,..but I think part of the fun of making something is seeing what your idea actually becomes. I think I had cables in mind, but since I don't even know how to cable,...that wasn't possible. It ended up being jumbo ribs. Cute enough in my opinion. I threw in the pompom for good measure.

Well the time has come to purchase a new couch. We threw out the old with the rubbish on Thursday morning. Which means we have been without seating. And will continue this wqay unless we make it to Ikea Saturday morning. This is the guy we have in mind.
Of course we'd like to do some comfort testing and really make a final decision on a color.
Then there are always a ton of other things to get at Ikea. :)

  2. adorable hat...can't believe that you just whipped that out in no time! Phoebe is really growing. I hear you on the lack of crafting time. I try and tell myself that there will be plenty of time to craft after the kids are grown- and cleaning? I am pretty sure that no one will come to the end of their life and say, "gee I sure wish that I would've spent more time cleaning my house instead of playing with my kids!" Can't wait to see what you grab at Ikea!

  5. Sweet Hat, sweet babe, sweet couch. I'm especially impressed with the hat though. And mid century style furniture melts my heart! I would have only mid century, if I could. Though I have heard that every thing is super low, and so it's little bit hard for people to get up out of it.

  6. We did end up getting that exact couch. And we love it to pieces already. Its inspiring me to redesign my whole apartment. Or buy another house. Thank you for the knitting love. Its sounds amazing but the yarn is very thick thats why it knit quick.
