guess what we did today?

Peppers, eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes, cucumber and a bunch of herbs went in the ground this afternoon. Joel built me these wonderful planter boxes, and we took tips from this book.
We have some unrented squares so I might go out to find some broccoli, carrots and lettuce. Or something else that might be fun to eat. Onions? I've been wanting to do this for a while, and I really didn't think it would happen this year. Joy.

  1. oh, you guys are going to have so much fun! hey, did you four move?

I really wanted to do broccoli, too, but then realized that's something to plant in late-summer and harvest in fall. growth in the heat it can hardly take, and if it does, it'll become bitter and damaged.

let us know how it all turns out!

  2. that's so nice of them!

yeah, hopefully that broccoli tip wasn't tainted. we're learning as we go, and that's what I picked up after doing some research.

I've been busy doing freelance photography, volunteering, and this and that. ben and I are starting a community garden for the salvation army's use, and we're very excited. I'm also looking into taking a few internships at a few farms this summer; I'd really like to learn to make cheese. we'll see, though.

    how's the family?
