it's not nesting yet,..
It's just a form of mental preparation. Since we didn't know phoebe was a girl before she was born, I already have some gender neutral newborn pieces. Enough to hold me for at least a month I think.

cloth diapering
Check these out!
We love cloth over here. But the coming of this new baby has got me researching. Again. We use these. And they work fine. But I'm like the idea of switching to all natural fibers. I think they might come up fresher for a longer period of time. Anybody have any experience with wool and cotton?

kitchen inspiration
I really like the wicker baskets on this top shelf. I have some top shelf space that could easily hold these. Also, the kids bunk bed is high up of the ground, and I don't enjoy looking under it. More baskets means more storage and less eye sores. Here are some nice baskets here. And here are some more. Can you have to many baskets?

i feel like a teacher
Late night preparations for the next day, and eager students who don't leave you much room to slip here and there bring this feeling on. I think this is a good thing. It is keeping me on my toes.
And here is the curriculum we are using for now.
1. phonics museum
2. saxon math k
3. comprehensive curriculum for preschoolers. ( for Phoebe, basically an involved coloring book. It keeps her busy)

homeschool
I know its very early to be schooling a three year old. But, he has been diligently asking to learn to read all summer. He also pays a grand share of his attentions towards time telling and numbers. So I figured we could start out slow.
So far he has been a great encouragement to me. He's eager and excited. Asking to do "school" for a second time during the day. Little miss kitty, who will not be left out of anything, has been learning her colors. But in truth she is a bit more of a distraction that anything else. We love her all the more. So, here's to another week.

Latah county fair
It's been pretty busy over here. Between having visitors, sick children, and starting to homeschool, I have gladly taken a break from blogging. But it's not a permanent break. I've been thrifting a lot and getting good deals I'd love to post about,..but until I get some pictures of the goodies I've found, I'll let you in on our grand fair event. We had a blast and so did the kids. Sam got to ride some fun little rides, and we enjoyed looking at all the prize winning livestock. ( my favorite part). Now I want to raise sheep along with the chickens. Reality only allows for chickens right now. But hey, a girl can dream right?
