6 years
We had our sixth anniversary on Saturday. And to celebrate our continued bliss, we went out to a restaurant called the Black Cypress with James and Alberta. We enjoyed some insanely delicious food. I got the catch of the day. Which happened to be sturgeon. A completely freaky, prehistoric, monster of a delicious fish. The brilliant chef here served it over roasted brussel sprouts, and potatoes with a mustard cream sauce. So good. We shared a bottle of wine and the ordered "S'mores" Homemade brownies, homemade marshmallows, ice cream and crispy sort of wafer thin graham. It was surely a taste from heaven.

soup gone sauce
One night niether my sister or I had enough kitchen stock to come up with something good for dinner on our own. We knew we didn't want to go to the store so we figured we'd put our goods together and see what we could come up with. I remembered a sausage and kale dish I read about in and old FOOD & WINE magazine. I had made it once but couldn't quite recall what went into it. Besides the two main ingredients. She had some delicious butternut squash soup leftover from the night before, and we thought it might be nice on the side. We put it on top instead. It's now a new favorite. Its so easy to put together and everyone eats it. There are very few dishes we all enjoy at the same time. So naturally, this goes on the list.

Christmas Photo 2009
Cookies have been baked and painted, presents are bought and wrapped.
We are enjoying some advent scripture readings every night, and much to our pleasure the kids ask for it. We are ready to Celebrate the birth or our Lord Jesus Christ.

not on purpose
I never meant to stay away that long. Yes adjusting to having three children under the age of three has taken along of my energy and time recently. But I didn't want to neglect this place for this long. I have some knitted things to share. I am going to be selling these baby legwarmers at a friends new consignment shop down town. But have yet to drop them off.
Its on my to do list.
