wool covers, for the diapers
I'm cloth diapering again. I have in the past, and I've also given up in the past as well. But I just can't stay away.
The diapers I was buying were discontinued. So in my search for the next best option, tons of dipes were crossed out and, for some sick reason I can get over the delicious smell and qualities of wool. So, I've been knitting up a bunch of these.
I like this pattern even better than the last, because its a bit more versatile. Also I like the look a bit more.

play dough
We made this dough on Friday morning using this recipe I got from a friend .
I used regular food coloring and essential oils in peppermint, lavender and grapefruit. We are very pleased with their consistency. All except the lavender. I over cooked just a bit, and is an obvious color fail but no one else seems to mind that it's black.
Play Dough
3c. flour
1 1/2c. salt
2T. cream of tartar
3c. water
3T. oil
food coloring
Mix dry ingredients together in a non-stick pot. Add water, oil and food coloring (to your desired color) to dry mixture and cook over very low heat until dough becomes solid (only a few minutes). Don't over cook or it will become dry and brittle. Remove from heat and knead until smooth. Let cool. I divided the complete mixture into three separate bowls before cooking and added the color and oils before I cooked them in separate pots.

baby gifting
I saw this really cute baby toy for you to sew from Lottas baby book and really wanted to try it.
It looked simple enough that my chances of success were pretty high. I like the way it came out, but I think it would have been better if I knew how to turn it into a rattle for real.

Also, while I had the sewing machine out, I made this dress for Phoebe. Of course she adores it, but I am just okay again, without a pattern.
I'm hoping to get some more stuff done, but I must remember not to sew when babies are awake.

planning a menu hasn't been the same,
Unfortunately, I don't feel like cooking anything these days. I still love food, but my appetite is being squandered by heartburn. This of course isn't keep my family from wanting good food. So on we go.

knitting again
My little knitting hiatus is over and I'm thinking sleeves. You know, the ones I didn't finish on that cute little sweater I'm trying to make. Yes, I'm ready for those to be done, and I just cast a baby blanket for a friend. She had a little girl as sweet as a peach, and I'm going to attempt to make something as beautiful as these.
Wish me luck.
